Could you form part of the new inspectorate?

We thought that you may be interested to read the recent job advertisement published by HMICFRS asking for secondees to form part of the inspection team for the Fire & Rescue Service.

There will be a range of opportunities for candidates who can bring a variety of experience and skills to the organisation, working at the forefront of change in the public sector to develop a new programme of inspections and report to the public on each fire & rescue services’ effectiveness, efficiency and leadership.

Our view is that the new inspection team needs to include experienced On-Call employees (past or present) who understand how the system works to better scrutinise the effectiveness of the service and how best it can improve. Current middle managers are unlikely to have this knowledge/experience, which is why we hope applications will be received from within our membership.
